A bit about me

Having studying English at the University of Oxford I went on to work in a variety of marketing roles in media companies such as the Guardian and HarperCollins. After almost a decade in the industry I moved to the Cotswolds, purchasing a coffee shop - the New England Coffee House - which I successfully ran for five years.

Whilst owning my coffee shop I realised that I enjoyed listening to customers' stories just as much as I liked making coffee. I noticed the way that regulars would share what was on their mind, be it good or bad, and leave seeming lighter. Having already experienced the transformative power of talking therapy, these interactions confirmed my next career change. I signed up for a Level 2 Counselling Skills Course. Then followed Level 3 Counselling Studies, before finally completing an FdSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
